Low Carb Cuban on a Stick



A few weeks ago we were invited to my in-laws for a deck party (you know, because we are still in the yellow phase). Patrick wanted a cuban dip that I had made in the past and honestly, I couldn’t be bothered by the process.

Instead, inspiration was on Pinterest for a Low Carb Cuban on a Stick. To make the process go as past as possible we found pre-cubed swiss at the grocery store and used pre-sliced deli ham, popped the lip on a jar of pickles and called it a day!

Low Carb Cuban on a Stick

Prep time: 15 minutes | Cook time: 0 minutes | Total time: 15 minutes

Servings:** Depends on how many you are serving (I believe we had about 2 1/2 dozen for our little patio party.

Ingredients:

1 - Jar of Pickles - we used Baby Jerkins

1 - Bag of Pre-Cubed Swiss or 2 to 3 blocks of swiss to cut into blocks

6 - Slices of Ham that were cut into strips and ribbon folded onto the toothpick

Dijon mustard for dipping (or any mustard of choice)

You'll Also Need:

Toothpicks to build your low carb appetizer

Instructions:

1. Cube cheese if needed

2. Take stack of deli ham and slice into 1 inch or small strips to fold into a ribbon pattern before slipping toothpick through

3. Once deli ham is folded into a ribbon pattern slip toothpick through the center of the meat and place cube of swiss for the base.

4. Take one pickle out of the jar and slip onto the other end of the toothpick and place on a platter or plate

5. Serve mustard in the middle of the patter if you'd like for the option to dip or serve in jar with a spoon to self serve the mustard.
