Allow me to share how I first discovered CBD and which products I use in my daily wellness routine.

October of 2017, I was given the keys to my very first brick & mortar studio space for my photography business, a dream that was often exchanged for fear, anxiety, and excuses. A few weeks after receiving the keys, I experienced the first panic/anxiety attack of my life that was completely out of the blue. After three days of feeling heart palpitations, restless sleep, and crying I finally made an appointment with my doctor's office. After a series of questions, blood pressure tests, and an in-office EKG I left with several prescriptions in hand. Hesitant and desperate to feel any ounce of normalcy, I filled my prescription and within a month or so I started to feel somewhat like myself.

I began sharing my experience with my chiropractor, family, & friends about the way I was feeling (conversations about mental health were not as mainstream as they are now) even though I was quite embarrassed to admit I needed help. It was during those conversations the CBD was suggested. After extension research, trial & error, several brands, and experimenting with milligrams & dosage I was able to wean myself off of the prescription and heal holistically.

Of course, prescriptions have their place in the medical world and I am not advocating or suggesting that anyone choose to remove a medication from their life without seeking support from their doctor. I had discussed with my doctor two weeks after being on the medication at a follow-up appointment that I would seek holistic alternatives. After 6-months of the medication, I decided to self-wean and phase the prescription of my system and learn more about CBD.

CBD has become a part of my mental health and daily wellness practice. I use CBD in a variety of forms to help keep my anxiety at bay, using muscle creams to help with achy joints and muscles post-workout, and even use a pet line to help Winston (our Great Dane) as he ages.

Because CBD has become incredibly mainstream, I am very cautious as to the brands I use and now recommend to my family & friends.

I wouldn’t buy sushi from a gas station so I won’t buy my CBD from one either.

That’s why I am so excited to share my love for CBD & Joy Organics.
